it seems that our 'happy holidays' culture sends less Christmas cards--notable this year: No card from White House (but maybe they heard I was selling them on ebay for $100), Nancy & Ryan, Greg, and Aunt Sissy.

Subject: Christmas dinner
Only 10 days left!!
I've started making a menu for our traditional Christmas dinner, and since a few of you have already asked what you could bring, I thought I'd offer a few suggestions for helpful additions if you care to. We need:
--appetizers
--bread and rolls
--vegetables (green and maybe a potato dish as well)
--chick fil tray for kids?
--items for dipping in the chocolate fountain! (strawberries, pretzels, oreos, poundcake, marshmallows…)
--another dessert to offer in addition to the fountain (pies, cookies, etc)
I think we'll serve dinner at 5, and you're welcome to come over around 2:00--or whatever time you'd like.

Maybe we can get the cousins together that day/ night? Since Jeff's event was cancelled we can meet up Weds--we can do that here.
Just something simple like Christmas eve with pizza or so--let them all hang out
Also that can help if some want to sleep over from Tues
Let me know what you think

Published April 22, 2008
Gerry and Sharon Scheidhauer decorated the outside of their Crofton home with yellow and white flowers and flew the Vatican and Bavarian flags in honor of Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Washington, D.C., last week.
"I got my inspiration from the National Shrine in D.C. where they planted yellow and white flower beds for the pope's visit," said Gerry, who makes a weekly pilgrimage to the shrine.
During his visit to the shrine on April 15, Gerry said he had lunch at Colonel Brooks' Tavern and found himself sitting next to Cardinal Sean O'Malley from Boston. The result was a photo of 5-month-old Nicholas Scheidhauer with the Boston archbishop.
The couple and their four children, Max, Brooke, Jack and Nicholas, also attended the pope's Mass at the new Nationals Park last Thursday. The Archdiocese of Baltimore notified them several weeks ago that out of 100,000 requests, the family would receive six of the more than 46,000 tickets distributed.
Gerry's father, Jerry Scheidhauer, also of Crofton, attended the Mass of Pope John Paul II in 1995 at Camden Yards, and also attended Pope Benedict's Mass.
"We're a big Catholic family and this is our spiritual leader," said Gerry about why he wanted to take his family to the event.
"We often watch the pope say Mass on TV on Sunday," said Sharon.
Originally from Bowie, they have lived in Crofton for 15 years and are members of Our Lady of the Fields Parish in Millersville.
Gerry owns an import/export business and Sharon works for the Drug Enforcement Administration in the public affairs office.

Easter Meal Today
Too bad to those whom missed out in the celebration of Easter today at Nancy's or was it Caroline's?
Beautiful day!
We have a culinary student in the house: Caroline. Under the chaperoning of Nancy--Caroline cooked up brunch/ early lunch today. Her special of the day was a chocolate croissant (sp? but you dont spell it boy you eat it). All the traditional Easter food and some new ones were on the banquet table--incl CrissB's bunny cake. Where has CrissB been? Was it last year--we were getting emails to send her emails? I asked her and she said she is very busy now. Stay away from Autumn CrissB?
We also met Nicholas (the elder) GF Britney. Yes spelled like the other one.
Anyway thanks for the hospitality and food Nancy and CarolB
